Front of your kart looks like one of your tie rods is way out of adjustment. I wouldn't go through the trouble and expense of putting a rack and pinion on it. Lets face it these are not highly specced out race karts with close to perfect tolerances, they're yard bangers. So if it's not dead on perfect it won't really matter as long as it close.Stick the crescent wrench on there and hit it a few times with a hammer. Worse case scenario the thing breaks off (rather unlikely/impossible) and it needs to be welded back on.
